Your AirPods would appear in the list of Other Devices if they were previously paired. You will be asked to speak through your microphone. Do it and pause. Then, listen to the replay of what you said. If you can hear it clearly, your speaker is fine. Just like the speaker test, repeat the process if you cannot listen to your replay.
When you are satisfied with both the speaker and the microphone test, click on Join with Computer Audio. It reduces background noise while you speak. So, if you have an AirPod, connect it before you get on Zoom calls. The audio quality and the mic- both will come off better. I'm hoping someone can help me. Due to the pandemic I am working from home and I have recently zopm a pair of Apple Airpod Pro's for MS teams calls however I can't get the mic to work. I've connected the airpods to my windows 10 pc ok and they play sound fine however I don't have an option to select the the airpods mic. This is a bit strange as when I first connected the airpods to my pc they were an recording option but it didn't work. I've tried everything like installing the latest drivers, updating the latest windows updates etc.
Has anyone had the same issue and got airpod pros mic working properly on windows 10? The mic works fine on my ipad and android phone so I know the mic works. This thread is locked. I've clicked on the link you sent and checked the privacy settings for the microphone. I have " allow apps to access your microphone " turned on and " allow desktop apps to access your microphone " on too which includes MS teams.
Under the sound settings I have the handsfree microphone option selected but there's no option to test my microphone see below. I've troubleshoot but it doesn't detect a problem. I called MS and they even connected to my pc to try to get them to work. MS say it's Apple's fault for not releasing the driver but Apple say its MS fault they're not compatible. Just wish this was mentioned on the hundred of online reviews as I wouldn't have wasted money purchasing them. Fingers crossed it gets sorted in the future.
I fought through this as well. The only way to enable the Airpods mic when using Windows apps i. Although this will get the mic working, the sound is pretty terrible.
